Taryn Simon 

Is another person i have been told to research as it is similar to my work and could help with ideas. I am going to add some information on Taryn about her life and work. She was born in 1975 and has had her work exhibited nationally. Her work i am most interested in is a set of images called "contraband" This series feature over 1,000 photographs of objects that have been seized or detained from passengers and express mail entering the united states from abroad. 

I find this set of work really interesting that Taryn spent 4 days in the airport photographing the objects. I like how she has taken them out of context and put them on a white background with lighting to show every detail of that product. Compared to my images these are taken not so close up to the product which still makes them more mysterious to what it is. Anyway compared to my images i cropped a few of mine and didn't like a lot of white space but Taryn uses the white space to frame around her objects.
